Major Cruise Line, Canaveral Florida

A premiere cruise line was having trouble with a six inch diameter “vent” pipe for one of their engines. The ships engine, which sat in the hull of the vessel, had a six inch steel pipe which served as an exhaust pipe. This pipe ran from the hull and up through seven stories to the top of the vessels main smoke stacks. Over the years the six inch diameter steel pipe was experiencing bad scaling and pin holes. It was up to US Sewer & Drain to figure out a way to line the three hundred foot long pipe with twenty bends throughout. The US Sewer team was up to the challenge.

The ship would leave port on a Thursday sailing to the Bahamas and returning that Sunday. US Sewer would need to execute the job within that time frame. Not only mobilizing all of the equipment necessary onto the ship but to also have the equipment seven stories below into the bowls of the ship. Oh, and did we mention the engine room where the guys would be working was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit when the ships engines were running. When the ship came into port the US Sewer team quickly went to work.

After many long hours and two crews working around the clock the once corroded six inch diameter exhaust pipe was now successfully lined from top to bottom. All done in and around the unsuspecting passengers of the ship. The equipment was mobilized and positioned in the early hours of the morning as not to interrupt with the ships passengers and their vacations. So the next time you’re on a cruise ship vacationing with your family makes sure to look for the US Sewer & Drain crew amongst the ships "Characters."

This job was lead by some of US Sewer & Drain’s key personnel. Congratulation’s to Mr. David Baker, Mr. Skip Wisner, Mr. Ruben Santiago and Mr. Mario Bianchi for another job well done.
