SeaPlace Condominiums - Longboat Key, Florida
This multi-building condominium complex which is located on the beach at Longboat Key Florida has withstood nature’s elements over the past thirty five years. However, the corrosive sea air proved too much for the thousands of feet of cast iron pipe that make up the vertical waste stacks that run from the roof to the ground floor.
When the board members at Sea Place identified a real problem with their sanitary sewer system the called on US Sewer & Drain to provide some answers. Not only did US Sewer & Drain FL send representative to answer some in depth questions, they also performed an “above ground demonstration” of the pipe lining product.
Over 20,000 feet of 2, 3 and 4 inch diameter pipe was identified for rehabilitation. All of which would need to be lined from the roof areas of each building. Each roof stack had multiple bends and turns as it traveled from the roof to the ground floor. Each floor had individual lavatory toilets as well as kitchen sink drains tying into these sanitary roof stacks. Each “tee in’ or “sanitary Tee” would need to be cut out or “reinstated” after each pipe was lined. This would be completed with robotic air cutting devices that are sent through the lined pipe after the curing process is complete.
This large project would take over fifteen men working in unison for six months. After the job is complete Us Sewer & Drain FL will have left its customer with 100% completely renovated sanitary sewer stack system that will with stand the elements for many years to come.
