Rockefeller Mansion

John D Rockefeller. The Donald Trump of the 1800’s. Money was no object when he would construct his lavish homes. This home built in the late 18oo’s in New York was no exception. Mr. Rockefeller was very hands on during the planning and construction of his homes. Everything was to be state of the art. He spared no exception the plumbing system. Paying attention to every detail he designed an elaborate plumbing system with hot and cold running water, boiler heating system and a storm management system for the home. Items that were for the rich only at the time. He built the system so well that it has held up for over 120 years with little to no modifications. The home is no preserved as a museum and is filled with priceless furniture and paintings. When the care takers of the property were experiencing leaking of the storm piping coming from the roof they called in US Sewer & Drain to solve the problem.

Mr. Rockefeller constructed sixteen, 4 inch diameter roof drains atop the lavish mansion. The led pipes would carry any standing water from the roof and to the ground floor garden area. The led piping was now showing signs of its age and beginning to leak through the plaster ceilings into the top floor bedrooms. The challenging part of this job would be the configuration of the pipes. The pipes would turn at a 90 degree bend more than eight times between the roof and the ground floor. Us Sewer was up to the challenge.

After delicately cleaning the led pipes of debris and calcium build up using a series of air pressure and cutting tools the pipe was now ready to be lined. US Sewer would use a patented material they call “Flex Liner” , a new and innovated lining material that shoots around multiple bends. Once the liner was cured out the Rockefeller mansion was left with a 4mm thick PVC coated lined to last for another 120 years.

Congratulations and thank you to the US Sewer & Drain crew for another job well do. Hat’s off to Justin Joshia, Shaun Marseglia, Skipper Wiesner and Ruben Santiago
